Great post Steve - thank you
Much of the advice on Forum comes from hard experience and we certainly need all the help we can get on Mac and Garmin and Bobcat.
A truly pioneering post I'd say

Thanks Steve,
I have created a sticky topic with the link on this forum, warning, in a gentle way, that we're still proceeding without offical local Garmin support for Garmap.

No worries. Happy to help if I can. As I mentioned, that's the simplistic
version but it should enable a fairly good Mac user to do what is
necessary.

I have not used Bobcat yet but presumably you could substitute point 6 with Run Bobcat. |

Yep... Close enough. See my post in this thread...

Are you specifically referring to converting and loading a Garmap mapset to Bobcat in your reference on the other link?

Indeed. I should probably have been more specific.
I'm using the converted SAS maps in Bobcat and also used the Mac to
load the maps to my nüvi; mostly since, as a Unix geek, I'd be damned
if I used Windows for anything I could find any alternative to...
So far it has worked beautifully...

eroux,
Agreed. Rather avoid windows where possible. Unfortunately, despite Garmin's desire to give full support for Mac, they have not come up with Mac software to do the conversion of the mapsets - precisely why I still maintain a Windows partition on my Mac.
