Good day All.

I currently have a Nuvi 610 - have been really happy with it. But I think its about time to upgrade. Seems like the Nuvi to go for now is the 1xxx range. Candidates are the 1300, 1310 or the 1410.

My understanding is that the only difference between the 1300 and the 1310 is that the 1310 has bluetooth. And the only difference between the 1310 and the 1410 is screen size.

Firstly, is this correct?

Secondly, what would Forum members recommend - which model to buy?

Thanks in advance.

I upgraded from the legend to the 1410 due to me wanting something with a bi screen.

Very happy with the Unit itself.

Over here the garmin agent sells it without any Mapsets installed & recommends T4A.
T4A has major shortcomings on the 1410 in that it does not tell you what POI etc. are around you, unless you ask
That is why I wanted the big screen, to handle all that info when in the bush.
Drove through Bushmanland/Koudom in May to find this out.

Also don't try to down/upload tracks

Hope this helps a bit

Try this link for a bit of comparison!

As far as I can see, 1410 can accept 10 routes, and can sort multiple destinations, whilst the 13xx cannot!

They are so very similar in specs it boils down to a choice based on price it would seem.

In the Manual covering this model range, Tour Guide compatibility is mentioned so there must be a measure of Mp3 capability while none have an Mp3 player built in - from the comparison above.

For the 'old' POI's I think you should wait for later mapsets since as I noted before, we found the placement errors in the ones you noted in the harbour.  New POI are always welcome as a Project with Tracklogs (not Trip Logs)

Correct. 1410 has big screen and routes, 1310 not.
